Great experience! The residence and hospitality was amazing and the view was beautiful. Really recommend renting a bicycle here to explore the local area👌
It may be a little remote but our stay there will be very memorable!
☺ Authentic Japanese house with a very accommodating host. She made sure we were comfortable (welcomed us from the road, and made us fresh herbal tea from her garden, among other things). Our conversation was also very pleasant.
☹ No complaints. It fit well into our plans and preferences.

Discover Serenity and Authentic Charm at Inashiki Nest in Ibaraki!
Are you yearning for an escape from the city bustle, a place where time slows down, and nature's embrace rejuvenates your soul? Look no further than Inashiki Nest in Ibaraki, a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of authentic Japanese countryside. I recently visited with my son, and it was truly a magical experience that transported me back to the cherished summer and winter breaks of my own childhood.
A Harmonious Blend of Heritage and Comfort
Inashiki Nest is a testament to timeless beauty and meticulous care. Despite the original building's age, its cleanliness and thoughtful restoration are immediately apparent. You can feel the owner's passion and dedication in every corner, where traditional Japanese aesthetics seamlessly blend with modern comforts. Even on the hottest days, the integration of contemporary technology ensures a comfortable and relaxing stay, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings.
Each room possesses its own unique character, a subtle artistry that reveals itself upon closer inspection. From the delicate paper of the sliding doors to the intricate wooden carvings adorning the walls, every detail tells a story. I was particularly captivated by the textured "Suna kabe" (sand wall) near the entrance. This ancient Japanese technique, dating back to the 500s, not only creates a visually stunning surface but also naturally regulates the house's humidity, adding to the inherent comfort of the space.
Nature's Classroom and Culinary Delights
One of the highlights of our stay was exploring the owner's magnificent garden. A true herb fanatic, she cultivates an astonishing array of vegetables and herbs. During our visit, the lavender was in full bloom, filling the air with its soothing fragrance, and we were even invited to take some home to create fragrant dry flowers.
As evening approached, we embarked on a walk amidst the breathtaking sunset glow. It was nothing short of phenomenal. The sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant oranges, casting a gentle, contrasting light over the bright green rice fields. Every photograph we took felt like a work of art, capturing the serene beauty of the Ibaraki landscape.
Adventures Await and Memories to Cherish
My son was so enchanted by Inashiki Nest that he's already asked to return this summer, eager to catch a stag beetle and try boat fishing in the nearby river. Witnessing his joy in these new, natural activities was incredibly rewarding, and for me, it was a wonderful opportunity to revisit the carefree days of my own youth. The ever-changing scenery between seasons promises a unique experience with each visit, making it a destination worth exploring year-round.
We cannot wait to return to Inashiki Nest. It's more than just a place to stay; it's an invitation to reconnect with nature, create cherished family memories, and rediscover the simple, profound joys of rural Japan.

Stayed here before our flight out of Narita to have an authentic ryokan experience. It was amazing! The hosts are so nice and welcoming. The rooms are big and the whole house was very clean. Bathrooms were great with awesome water pressure. It's in a nice rural location so you get the whole rice field countryside experience! We would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!

You can experience a local Japan life in this beautiful big house. Owner Fujiko is very friendly and kind so we were so comfortable to spend time with her. We stayed there only one night but we saw another side of Japan which is amazing country side.
Thank you very much. ❤️❤️❤️

It's a really nice old japanese house surrounded by picturesque rice fields. The host, Fukjiko san, was really friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and i really enjoyed my stay at Inashiki nest. There is a kitchen, laundry facilities, showers etc. There are some smaller shops around the area to buy food and the locals are very friendly. I was traveling through japan with my bicycle so cannot say much about how public transport is in the area but cycling around worked perfect. there are lots of small sideroads with only very little traffic, perfect for cycling. Can recommend visiting the local sweets shop beside the temple (ca 20min walk from the accomodation).
