Sceneries or memories?
The rural landscape of the Inashiki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, stretches endlessly, reminiscent of the Kanto Plain.
INASHIKI NEST is located in Inashiki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, right on the border with Chiba Prefecture. This area is sometimes referred to as “Chibaraki.”
Interestingly, despite being a nearby rural destination, it is only a little over an hour’s drive from Tokyo.
You can experience the authentic rural scenery with vast countryside landscapes and enjoy the soothing breeze blowing through the area. It is situated close to Kasumigaura, the second-largest lake in Japan.
INASHIKI NEST is not your typical tourist destination.
This is especially evident just after the rice planting season.
It doesn’t have a nearby train station, so reaching it by public transportation can be a bit challenging. However, it is easily accessible by car or bicycle.
As a result, the vicinity remains uncrowded, providing a tranquil and serene environment for visitors to relax.

The lodging available here is a traditional Japanese-style house. Despite being a first-time visitor, there is a sense of nostalgia and comfort in its appearance.

When you open the large sliding doors in the living room, the wind flows through the house, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. You can relax on the tatami mats, read or meditate on the “engawa” (porch), and spend your time at ease in the tranquility of the natural surroundings. It’s a peaceful and serene environment where you can unwind, create enjoyable memories with friends and family, and have your own time as you like.
The veranda is located by the south window of the traditional Japanese house – during winter, the sunlight streams onto the veranda around midday, creating a warm and cozy spot.
-Lake Kasumigaura-
The fields are filled with herbs and vegetables depending on the season.
You can use freshly harvested vegetables to cook in the kitchen of the inn or make fresh herb tea.

A short distance away, you’ll find the preserved historical streets of Koedo SAWARA, where you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of old Edo (Tokyo’s former name). Exploring the area and dropping by cafes make for an enjoyable experience, as you reflect on the history.
